A good fit between you & your therapist is important for successful therapy. I provide the following biographical information about myself to help you make a good choice about who you want to invite to work with you.

I completed training in Marriage & Family Therapy at Pacific Lutheran University near Seattle, Washington in 1996 & for 15 years have provided counseling to individuals, couples, families, children, & adult students. I have counseled in various contexts including private practice, mental health clinic, community agency, Christian clinic, & the University Counseling Service at Cambridge University in Cambridge, England where I lived with my husband & daughter for 4 years. In England, counseling people from many different countries & cultures gave me experience & an understanding of multi-cultural & mixed-cultural issues. After this work I moved to Dallas, Texas where I have been helping individuals, couples, & families for the past 6 years.

I have been married to my husband for 30 years & have a grown adult daughter who lives in Canada. In my own life I have struggled with distressing challenges, including the loss of my second child at birth, as well as celebrated the joy of personal growth & development. These experiences have given me the ability to really understand the difficulty of my clients’ personal struggles & frustrations, as well as appreciate their intense desire for change & hope for a better future.

I am known to be accepting, understanding, sincere, & a good listener.
